My public todo list, “@builtbydave #todo”

What are the consequences (positive, and negative) of having a public todo list? I’m sure I’m not the first person to wonder, anyway..

Something you wanted me to do? Just prefix your tweet “@builtbydave #todo” and it’ll appear in my public todo list & my feed reader. Here’s one I sent to Aral:

What’d the use be on something like this outside of todo’s, i.e. sending a link. Not to dissimilar to del.icio.us for:builtbydave tag… @builtbydave #link? I’m sure my subconscious has me thinking about this from Alfie’s blog post, @everyone: The command line is mainstream.

    Hi Dave

My to-do list includes everything including my should get to’s and probably about 30% of it is clearly for private use from Flowers to business stuff.

For me I want one list, not more fragmentation. For that matter you could create a to-do list in FF using a private room.

Don’t know except for me my to-dos need to be on one list and privacy is an issue.

You are talking about a specific case, which can be solved. You are right, for somethings I want privacy as well:

    * having software that could “subscribe” to this feed and pull it into your one todo place
    * the source of the todo doesn’t dictate the privacy

However, really I’m not interested in the software side of it, I’m interested in how people react to having a public todo list. Do you get things done quicker? Do you feel pressure you didn’t before because others see when you are and are not productive etc…
